The Basement - Our Newest Project

Scott has been steadily working on the basement, so here are some new photos to see his progress.

So join us downstairs for a tour...

The Main Rec Room (AKA the Green and Gold room) - This will hold a pool table, bar and Televison when it is finished. We are not quite done here, but good progress is being made!

The Bathroom - Fully functional! Now you do not have to climb upstairs to use the faclities :-)

First Floor

Our greatroom - below you see our greatroom which is where we spend a good deal of our time. You also see a bit of the woodwork that Scott worked so hard on. Each of the boards you see in this ceiling as well as all of the wood in our house was sanded, stained and varnished by Scott with some help from myself and good friends. Scott also installed the Uniclick floors in this room which are similar to Pergo. The last picture shows one of the pieces of art that we have purchased . This is a wool indian blanket that depicts the cirle of life. We really liked it and have hung it in a prominent place above our fireplace.

Kitchen and Dinning Room - To the left of the greatroom are the kitchen and the dining room. It is all an open plan as you can see from the floorplan. Scott took this picture which shows our dinning room with some of the furniture we bought and hauled back from North Caroline, but that is another story :-)

Utility room

Porch - Our porch is an extension to our living space especially in Florida. We have a lot of porch, but the back porch is screened to deal with the Florida bugs and to keep the pool a bit cleaner. It is an enjoyable pace to spend a hot afternoon or an wonderful fall day.

Stairs - Scott spent a lot of time making these stairs just right. He had the steps planed and then sanded, stained, and varnished them. Then we put flooring in underneath and added lighting to give it a bit more pizazz

Second Floor

Loft - The loft is a very comfortable and airy place. It is great for reading a good book or just enjoying the view of the lake. The floors upstairs are actually the ceilings of downstairs. We used a flor sander and then added a finish to keep it simiple. The last picture shows a bench which hides the duct work that is required to get air to the upstirs rooms. By chance, it is the exact size of four ottoman cushions which we got for free due to a mix up with the company we bought the futons from.

Guest Suite - This room is meant for those special guests that we have visit. It is just getting finished and we still need to furnish it, but if you come to visit, we will make sure you have a bed! There is a small deck that extends off of this room that provides for a great view of the lake and a quite spot to sit when you come to visit.

Office - On the other side of the upstairs is the room Scott and I share as our offices. It has dueling rolltop desks and plenty of room for all the work we have to get done to afford this house.
